On Saturday 7 August 1994, the Eddie Watkins Lodge took the unprecedented step of raising five Brothers on the same day. 

Bros Bob Best and Gerry Jones were elevated to Primoship by the PGP, Bro Maurice Knight ROH, and this was followed by Bros George Skivington CP, Gordon Skivington CP and Danny McAtear CP all being raised to the Third Degree by Bro Howard Griffiths KOM, Kt IP Pres.

The ceremonies were carried out with the due decorum and, unbelievably, without a hitch.

Never having heard of this size of multiple raising we believe that it is a record within the Order, although I am sure that somewhere, someday, someone will prove us wrong.
